The lens is made up of 15 elements in 10 groups with an appropriate arrangement of LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements. Eliminating waste to the extreme degree, Tamron reduced weight while still achieving very high image quality in the 70-300mm F4.5-6.3. Aberrations such as axial chromatic aberration (which tends to occur in telephoto lens designs) have been well corrected.
